It's basically 2 weeks of low carb/calories & high protein. Then there's a 2 week "keep trim" menu that has less restrictions & helps you keep the weight off. My plan is to do 2 weeks scarsdale, 2 weeks keep trim then another 2 weeks of scarsdale.
My chalk board in the kitchen to keep me motivated & to remind me what to buy!
SCARSDALE DIET and KEEP TRIM
My current weight is 140lbs & I'm 5'4, not fat by any means but I'm wanting to lose 30-40 pounds over the 6 weeks. During the Scarsdale diet you are estimated to lose around a pound a day & many people who have used the two-week on, two-week off system (alternating between scarsdale & keep trim) have also noticed weight coming off during the keep trim fortnight.
The diet looks quite restricting but I'm more of a quick fix sort of girl & don't think I would manage to keep up a slower paced diet if I'm not seeing instant results. My only worries are being hungry, I'm used to eating ALOT! But tips from previous users of the scarsdale diet have suggested that preparing your meals in advance and keeping organised is the best way to keep at it.
Tomorrow's lunch and dinner prepared (mostly). Fruit salad for lunch and salad for dinner (to be accompanied by a low fat grilled burger)
I'm going to accompany this diet with Shaun T's hip hop abs which I've started once before. (It was really fun & I feel silly for quitting!!!) The Scarsdale book recommends that you walk 2 miles a day but I don't have time for that so a 40 minute work out with Shaun T will do me nicely!
I'm going to use this blog to help me track progress & please let me know what you think of this diet!!!
Would you try it? Is it too ambitious? What are your experiences with diet//weight loss/working out?
xo

Hi Darling, thanks for following my blog, sorry for the late reply, not been blogging for ages (All explained in my latest post) :) Oh yes the summer diets, I've done one every year and if you see it more as a life style change then a diet you'll stick with it. Having meals prepared is the best idea. I do that now all the time, make loads of mini meals at ones, chop loads of fruit and veg and then when I'm hungry it's there and I'm not reaching for bread :) How are you finding it? xx
ReplyDeleteIt was super hard the first 2 days, now I'm on day 5 it's not bad. Taking a day off because it's Eurovision tonight haha! xo
DeleteLet me know how you get on! I am cutting out carbs and doing at least 30 mins exercise a day from Sunday as 5 weeks till hol!

I did a whole set of diet posts a while back to keep me focused, I stopped now because I felt like I was just repeating myself. I do the 5.2 diet, lost nearly 20 so far. You basically eat normally 5 days a week and then restrict to 500 calories twice a week (can't be consequtive days) it's pretty easy as long as you plan the fasting meals in advance. I like to skip breakfast and eat 200 calories for lunch and 300 for dinner. Good luck on your journey!
ReplyDeleteI've got a M.A.C giveaway on my blog at the minute, would love for you to check it out.

ReplyDeleteMy exams end late June and I want to start going on a diet too! I had no idea what to do but I think what you're doing may be a good idea, I just eat when I'm bored which is a bad habit to have!

Sounds like a reasonable diet as long as your calories aren't below 1200 a day. I've been upping my effort recently as its holiday time soon. I actually have a lot of health/ fitness related stuff on my blog if that would help you doll :D Good luck with your regime x
